Cebu Restaurants: Tazza Cafe and Patisserie

New restaurants have been sprouting up all over the Lahug area and you can't miss this quaint little cafe across Fujinoya. While the parking up front is very limited, you are allowed to park at the Tsai hotel's basement parking area. I've already visited Tazza Cafe and Patisserie twice. First on a Saturdate and next, because I was able to purchase a Groupon voucher (yey 50% off!).


In case you missed it, taza, is Spanish for "cup". Notice the inverted cup and saucer chandeliers. So cute. (Side note: I just got my personalized phone casing, thus explains why I'm holding my phone up in this photo.)

On to the food! First up, cheesesteak sandwich. This, I believe, is their specialty and it was so good that my boyfriend ordered the exact same thing during our second visit.

Beef Stroganoff Pasta - P198
I ordered the beef stroganoff pasta on my first visit and it was really good. Too salty in my boyfriend's opinion and not cooked to that perfect al dente but for me, it was creamy and very delicious!

On our second visit, I ordered the Beef Stroganoff (rice meal), which also cost P198. This was basically the same as the pasta and just as delicious.  In addition, we also got a Bacon Alfredo which was true to it's menu description - mushrooms, bacon and creamy white sauce. This was also good but nowhere near as good as the beef stroganoff pasta and for the same price, definitely go for the former.

For dessert, we tried their brownies (P68) and red velvet cake. I've definitely tried much better, but this wasn't bad.

All in all, I'd say Tazza Cafe and Patisserie, with its clean and classy ambiance and good food, is definitely worth trying and revisiting. My only complaint would be that the serving isn't big enough. But that's alright, just order an extra dish or two and it's all good. Will definitely be going back for that beef stroganoff!
