Moving From A Rented Unit To Your First Home
I can’t believe it’s been almost a
year since my husband and I moved from a unit we rented and into our first
home. I still remember packing everything up, unpacking, and moving in. It was
such an exciting milestone in our lives and it feels surreal to look back. Are
you moving into your first home soon? This collaboration couldn’t have come at
a better time. The article below will share a few tips to make the process
easier.
Always,
Jeanne
Moving from a rented unit to your first home
There comes a time in life when
you decide to upsize your home, whether you have a growing family or you’ve
simply decided to settle down from a life of renting. You’ll be happy to know
it is much easier to move into a larger space than it is to move into a smaller
one. Here are some tips to help you grow into your new home.
Use a floor plan.
Try and grab a floor plan of your
new house to help you plan the layout of furniture into your new house. Because
it’ll be much bigger, the layout might be tricky to get used to. Planning it in
advance saves time when you’re unpacking.
Hire a professional service.
Considering there won’t be as
much furniture as there would be if you were moving from a larger house, it’s
much easier to take the fuss out of moving by hiring a professional service
such as Hire-A-Mover. They can get your items and furniture to your new house in one trip,
saving time and energy.
Tackle each room one by one.
Focus on designing your rooms one
by one and take your time with it. Again, the layout may seem odd and
unfamiliar because of you’ve been used to such a small space in comparison.
Invest in your new furnishings.
You may feel the need to fill up
the new amount of space with as much as you can. Although this solution appears
cheaper, it is much more cost effective in the long term to take your time and
invest in pieces that will last much longer and suit the design style of your
home.

Ahhhh it must be SO exciting to move into your own home! And it's definitely a big move. I just watched my parents move houses and the number of boxes they had was insane! I definitely think tackling rooms one by one helps. I could see myself bouncing around all over the place, and that would take forever!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips lady!
