My Pregnancy Journey
If you've been following this blog for a while, you'd know that I always write a year-in-review post. I always love to reflect on the year that has passed, look back on the things that have happened, check to see if I've achieved the goals that I've set for myself at the start of the year, and then create a new set of goals for the new year. 2019's reflection is a little bit different. Today, I'll be looking back on my pregnancy journey because really, 2019 was all about having my baby. In fact, my goals completely changed and all our travel plans got cancelled because I got so sick during the times when our travel plans were scheduled. But that's alright, baby is worth it all!
8 Weeks Pregnant
I had started to experience the 'morning sickness' which actually lasted the whole day everyday. But totally feeling the pregnancy glow. Also saw baby's heart beating for the first time.

12 Weeks Pregnant
Could barely smile for this photo. By this time, I had been suffering extreme vomiting for 6 weeks - vomiting everything I ate, vomiting at the thought and smell of food, seeing the doctor every other week, and losing a kilo each week. Didn't know how I would survive.
16 Weeks Pregnant
The meds finally kicked in or the hormones toned down. I was vomiting much less, only 3x a day or less. This was a win for me. Things can only get better from here, right?
20 Weeks Pregnant
Finally. The meds were working and I was no longer suffering from extreme vomiting. I can eat and enjoy again. Time to slowly wean off the medications. Now I can enjoy pregnancy. Also, found out we're having a girl!

The 2nd trimester treated me well. I even had some energy to exercise.

We also had our Beach-Themed Maternity Photoshoot when I was 30 weeks pregnant.

Started to feel heavy. Could no longer stand or walk for too long without my left leg going numb. Simply had to sit and take breaks here and there. It's a good thing I decided to hold our spring-themed baby shower during this week (rather than 2-4 weeks later!)

At 33 weeks, we had a 4D scan and saw baby's face in colour for the first time. Even in that scan, she looked just like her dad, just like I expected. As with all of my scans, baby gave the sonographer a hard time as she's just so active - moving around so fast and always doing the opposite of what the sonographer would like her to do. And then she would cover her face too. It didn't help that my anterior placenta was still covering her face a bit. The lovely lady who did our 4D scan was SO nice to ask us to come back 2 weeks later for a free rescan so she could give us even better photos. So in love with our pretty girl!
36 Weeks Pregnant
The countdown begins. Realised that my face and arms (and the rest of my body including my swollen feet) have never been this huge before. Took me 2 minutes to realise that as long as my baby is healthy, I honestly didn't care.

Awww this is so beautiful, thanks for sharing your journey with us. I adore the shots using the same dress to capture growth and changes. I could be wrong but I don't think I've seen this done using the same outfit and I have to say I kinda prefer it!

Ohh wonderful photos <3 All the best !!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every moment with her! They grow so fast, as cliche as it sounds. I still can't believe I have a 2.5 year old and a 7mth old! It all feels like a blur sometimes because there's so much to do on the daily and time flies on top of it.

Good on you to document every single month during pregnancy. The photos look really good especially that you wore the same dress too. I never took photos of me when I was pregnant 3 times, I just found myself bad looking and lack of energy haha. Yesss, babies are worth it even if I didn't like my pregnancy journey.
