The Dinner Ladies (REVIEW)
The Dinner Ladies have arrived in Adelaide! Their team has so kindly gifted me with a box of made-with-love meals and therefore gave me the gift of time and a worry-free happy tummy this week. I've been sharing with you guys some of the meals we've had over on IG stories.

The company started with 2 mums who cooked meals with healthy ingredients and then made the meals snap-frozen for freshness. Different from other meal subscriptions where you have to do the cooking, these meals only need to be defrosted and reheated or have minimal cooking effort such as baking or stirring in a saucepan. The instructions for each meal are clearly written on the packaging so you honestly don't have to do much thinking.
So if you're short on time but still want to have the goodness of homemade meals on your table, you might want to give them a try.
My thoughts:
1. These meals tasted like they are restaurant-level. Seriously yum! And checking the ingredient list made me even happier. I mean, this is probably much healthier than if I cooked them. Their broth seems to be made from scratch from free range chicken bones and vegetables. They use heaps of herbs and spices some of which I probably can't be bothered sourcing myself. The veggie-packed sausage rolls were indeed packed with veggies such as chickpeas, capsicums, carrots, and the like.
2. The size Small might be enough for 2 people with regular appetites but for the Asians-who-eat-like-a-horse-and-never-get-fat *cough me cough* it might not be. We settled on one and a half small-sized packaged meals for each meal and that was the right amount for us.

3. How. About. That. Packaging. I mean, wow! You pay a $15 delivery fee for your meals and that amount is placed to good use. With previous meal subscriptions I've tried, I was always bothered by how each ingredient was packaged in a separate plastic packet - something I obviously don't have to worry about with The Dinner Ladies. The packaging is so mindful with clear instructions of how best to dispose them (i.e. in the recycling bin or compost!)
4. The ease of prep is just beyond convenient. The majority of meals you simply have to defrost and reheat in the microwave, or simply reheat without defrosting. While some you'll have to pop in the oven or on the saucepan with minimal effort.
So far, I have yet to try a meal of theirs that I didn't like. Perhaps my least favourite would be the veggie-packed sausage rolls because while it was delicious, you know the unhealthy ones always taste better, right? But as a parent, yes, those tasted amazing too. My absolute favourite are their curries though. Can't quite decide between the Thai Chicken Curry or the Prawn Curry. They're both so delicious. Had them with heaps of rice, of course! And of course, their best-seller is their lasagne and it's no wonder. It may have been the best lasagne I've ever had! Seriously.
